Joe Stickle11/01/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Freya rescued me from a SPCA shelter 3 months ago. She was only 14 months old and had lived a pretty tragic Life. She was used as a "bait" dog for a dog fighting group as a puppy, then went on to live the next year being shuffled from shelter to shelter because she's a pitbull mix. Long story from where she started to where she is now!! We are sooooo happy now. Using the 5 Golden Rules has changed everything with Freya and I. She is getting ready to begin training as my Psychiatric Service Dog for my PTSD! 🐾🥰❤️🐾🥰❤️ Lori Shortreed06/01/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The 5 Golden Rules have helped me so much, especially the 'thank you' while barking exercise. Greeting my son's without over excitement and barking, settling quickly when I come home. It's only been 2 weeks. Took her out the front of house while I was gardening and she was calm and quiet. Also doing walking no lead in house next to my side perfectly. I had a highly reactive dog who had to be on diazapan during fireworks as she would hyperventilate, lather, throw herself at walls trying to escape and bark full volume for hours afterwards. It would take her days to settle down afterwards. She was beginning to generalise these fear experiences to cars, dogs, strange situations and other people. No trainers I spoke to could help. On the 23rd Dec 2024 I signed up to do Doggy Dan's Calm Code figuring I had nothing to lose. On 31 Dec 2024 - 8 days later - I realised I had lost the reactive dog. It was a wet night so I figured not fireworks and did not give her disazpan. When they went off she began to react so I applied the calm code and she relaxed a little. At the next sound when she reacted, I applied the calm code by saying thank you and checking for danger. She again relaxed but gave a little woof. At that point I followed the code and put her in isolation for 2 minutes. When she came out I pointed to her bed where she lay down and went to sleep with fireworks going off around her. The same the next night. She is barely noticing fireworks anymore and is very happy to take my lead on what is dangerous. Our lives are completely different because of this course. I am so grateful. I believe this is the best course I have found for learning how to create and convey my calm heart to my dogs who are both presently choosing to be calmly asleep when they previously would have been running riot around the house. Here is a photo of a previous fireworks night when we were trying improvised earmuffs and her heavy coat. LOL! Also notice the dog chew meant to be a distraction. Thank you Marek Jura31/12/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We started the programme a few weeks ago, and starting to see some good results with Milo, my anxious rescue dog. Fingers crossed his progress continues... 🤞🐶🤞😍 Susan Tempesta30/12/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I believe my dog has started seeing me more as the pack leader since implementing the golden rules. She had been food aggressive and he’s of the other dog in the house. Feeding her separately has solved that issue. Monitoring her behavior toward the other dog with jealousy. It’s been one month with no attacks. Bree Dellerson29/12/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Within the first few days of implementing the five golden rules there was a noticeable difference with my 3 dogs. Not only that, we share the house with another 6 dogs who have also benefitted from it. My youngest is 21 months old, pulls, jumps on people for attention, and has been reactive on lead. Our walks are now are such a pleasure! I can’t articulate it, but the other day on our walk it felt like it all just landed. I was the leader and Osho was walking next to me calmly, tuned into me rather than the other way around. It was so refreshing and has deepened our bond. And get this, I’ve only been doing this for a few weeks! Imagine what’s possible when it’s become our way of life! Other big changes: the barking has dramatically reduced, they now wait on the step when I go out the front door, they calm down much more quickly when I get home and are more at ease when I leave. This works! And it’s simple to implement, you just need to be consistent. I’m so grateful I found Doggy Dan the Online Dog Trainer. We all need to learn how to be loving leaders in our dogs’ lives (and ours too!) Sharon Stone29/12/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dottie is a 5yo red fox lab. Loving funny and mostly a joy BUT she barks at visitors, passersby and other dogs. She walked ok on leash, recall was good. Now 10 days in she’s definitely calmer, still barks at the window but less so and disengages more quickly. Her leash walking is great now, especially since l’ve positioned the slip lead in the right place so she receives and responds perfectly to fingertip hints to heel walk. Today l was so proud of Dottie; at the start of the walk we saw an approaching ‘enemy’. Dottie stared, then looked at me and we moved off with no sound. The other dog, was leaping and growling as we walked by! She’s improving everyday and lm loving it. Her worst moment before Doggy Dan was an altercation with a neighbours dog causing minor injury. I was mortified hence me seeking Dan’s help. Thank you. helen palmer28/12/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My dog, Cooper, a Chihuahua, and I, moved from a very rural setting to an apartment complex in the city. It has been a huge adjustment for both of us, but mostly for Cooper. There are more random noises… HE BARKS. There are more dogs…HE BARKS. There are more people HE BARKS. And there is just more of everything! The UPS delivery to the house and a pack of coyotes were the only noises he ever heard when we lived in the country and the only noises that set off his barking- NOW every little thing sets off his barking. And walking has been a nightmare for both of us. For the past two weeks, I have been following Doggy Dan’s recommendations for time out and keeping calm and my overreactive little Cooper, is slowly changing for the better. When I have my family come to visit us, I have asked them to not make a big fuss of him when they walk through the door and not to pay attention to him until things have calmed down for a while. Cooper still barks and continues to bark, when there’s a knock at the door, but in other ways, he is so much better and I am so grateful for that! And so is he! Cooper and I are coming out of a very stressful situation where we lived before. I know he has picked up on my level of stress from that experience. We are both relaxing more now and enjoying each other’s company. Now I watch the YouTube “pup dates” and am continuing to learn more from Doggy Dan’s channel. Thanks so much, Dan, for sharing your knowledge - I will continue to use your techniques and lovingly calm my little doggy!
