I watched the DVD and applied everything that Dan said at home and my German Shepherd 6-month-old pup got it straight away. When she was 7 months old, I let her off for the first time at a reserve that had lots of Bike Tracks and Nature Walks, and large areas dogs can run. A jogger came running out of the bush which surprised us and my girl run up to him to say hi and he said nice shepherd and off he ran. Well, my girl thinks that looks like fun and took off after him, once she was about 200 yards away running right beside him I thought its time to test the whistle. To my delight, she stopped turned around, and came straight back to me. Excellent whistle! I have already recommended it to a few dog owners trying to obtain a total recall.

I only used the whistle for less than a week with treats and my dog Pearl now comes to me just by calling her. Like the video dog, she comes bounding toward me. Before using the whistle, she ignored me. I would go to grab her collar she would dodge me like we were playing a game. I am still giving her treats every time she comes, but eventually, I will not do it all the time. I strongly recommend Doggy Dan’s methods of training.
The whistle is a great tool to call your dog back to you, especially from a long distance. In the accompanying DVD, Doggy Dan makes it very clear how to effectively use the whistle. Each segment is short, to the point (I like that unlike others DD does not talk too much!), and very practical and easy to implement. My own dog was initially afraid of the whistle but by following DD’s methodology that was overcome within 24 hours. If you like taking your dog to places where they can enjoy running some distance from you (and as DD says ‘doggies love to run and they love to eat’) thus it is a great resource.

Wow, this is incredible. My high-speed sheepdog does a dramatic u-turn and comes galloping back to me every time. The best part is the glee in my dog's face, he seems to find it the best game ever.
